Asgard’s Wrath 2 is a massive action RPG for the Meta Quest 2 and Quest 3 VR headsets.

I joined the team at Sanzaru Games in the final sprint to release, and helped the combat design team put a bow on the game’s highly innovative and immersive combat experience. My focus was on refining or rethinking several of the existing boss battles to bring them up to the necessary quality level for launch.

  • Redesigned the Sakhmet’s Bruiser battle and collaborated with engineers and animators to implement the new design.

  • Refined the Corpse Eater apex predator fight, tuning attack patterns and implementing a new finisher sequence.

  • Carried the Eythingamathur battle to the finish line by refocusing on its most effective attacks, polishing attack windows, and reimagining its final stage.

  • Implemented and refined the resource harvesting system from Apex Predators.

After the release of Asgard’s Wrath 2, I was asked to become the lead of the studio’s first Systems Design team.

FUN FACT: When I started working on Asgard’s Wrath 2 (which is set primarily in ancient Egypt), I was in the process of learning to write in Egyptian hieroglyphics.
