Lead World Designer 2006—2007
Lego Universe was a massively multiplayer online action RPG that put players in the plastic pants of their own custom minifigure to adventure across multiple Lego themes.
As lead content designer for the first half of development, my role was to plan out the shape of a diverse Lego world that integrated internally designed content and player-created constructions.
Conceived of the game’s factions and primary characters.
Designed gameplay systems like exploration, racing, dancing, and demolition.
Designed multiple tutorial zones to walk players through the initial play experience.
Devised player property and model ownership systems to allow players to get credit for their Lego craftsmanship.
Helped transition a large organization to an agile development methodology.
